Hi there,
i Recently signed up to value host (last week actually!)
and am thrilled at the options and features available.
this is my first paid for host and domain name as i only started getting into this web site malarky In november 2001, and since then I can now handle most things thrown at me!!
Now i come to value host to introduce a new learning curve for me, and since joining i have now delved into perl and and the world of cgi and am picking things up quickly!!

now this may be very simple but anyway the Question i wish to ask is:
How do i set my own Mail server for the Happyaxeman.co.uk?

i Cant for the life of me figure it out on the control panel....
so im asking for help here!!!

cheers Peeps,
Happy Axeman :dnkn:

Login at http://support.valuehost.co.uk, and in the control panel, click on "DNS Settings Panel" and then on "Alias" - if you scroll to the bottom of the page, it tells you what you need to do there :)

I hope this is what you need..

so when i'm trying to access my mail through say outlook, my mail and smtp adress would be mail.happyaxeman.co.uk, yes?
if so, somethings not right!!

i did

mail | CNAME | mail.ValueHost.co.uk

is that correct?

cheers

Hi

It's should be:
mail | CNAME | mail.ValueHost.co.uk.

not - mail | CNAME | mail.ValueHost.co.uk

Do not forget dot in the end

Sincerely,

Valuehost

i did place dot, but still no joy.
is there a particular amount of time you have to wait as it seems i have done things right?
so i will probably keep trying my emails again tomorrow or something!!
cheers :)
