View Full Version : Multi domains query

I am thinking of buying a hosting account but have a few queries about pointing multiple domains onto the account.

Suppose I have a few domains already registered, let's call them www.maindomain.com, www.anotherdomain.co.uk and www.3rddomain.co.uk. They all have different content.

Now as I understand it I could use 3 of the 6 available sub servers to host all 3 on one account. I keep my current registrar (uk2.net as it happens) and just set the DNS entries on the uk2 control panel to point to your name servers.

But you also offer a free .uk domain name, so I could sign up for, say, www.myfreedomain.co.uk on the account, and point my existing 3 domains into the account as above.

Now I am also interested in sub domains. The package details say that you can have unlimited subdomains for your main domain. Does that mean that the sub domains would only work on myfreedomain.co.uk, or could I set up sub domains on all of my existing domains too?

And do the unlimited subdomains point to the same content as the main domain? Would I have to use some of the 6 subservers to give different content on the subdomains?

Hope my questions make sense! Looking forward to some answers.

Thanks, Richard

Hi,

You can point 6 domains or sub-domains or groups of domains (sub-domains) to different folders. Sub-domans means that you can create DNS sub-domain and point to any IP.

You can get 1 free domain name and than transfer exisiting domains by changing DNS.

Sincerely,
