How long does it all take?

Hi all, I would just like to know the sort of general times involved. I took aout a hosting package and took advantage of the free domain name offer and managed to get my .com I know this one is only as quick as the NIC but was wondering if anyone had a rough guideline as I'm obviously dying to get started.

And some praise for 'Valuehost' really good price and dead easy to go through the whole process - definately recommended.

Domain name propagation usually takes between 24 and 48 hours, after that you should be up and running provided you've got your site sorted.

Still waiting - I know that .com registering can take a bit - InterNIC is still showing available. Any more ideas on newly registered.

Still dying to get going.

PS any tutorials on the control panel - even just a doc on setting format as I may have to get a collegue to update something at one point and it would help out all round I think as some may be experienced but would help out the subscribers with less experience in fields of DNS and subserver / MySQL and such. Just a though / wish list.

You should submit your details for domain name registration.
Please go to the Control Panel at http://support.valuehost.co.uk then log on, then click on 'Contact Information', then scroll to the bottom of the form and you will see Details for Domain name registration. Submit everything and your domain name will be registered automatically.

Oh , then i messed up majorly , i forgot to do that and just wondered why nothing happened , until i saw some other person getting the domain name i wanted several days later . My bad .
A question , does this mean i am also entitled to get a domain ?


Web hosting (chibiusa) bill for 3 months and domain name langrisser.com for 1 year

:( Well still no domain - played with the control panel for a week - fed up now. Email you twice VH with delivery and read receipting on and not even a delivery receipt as yet - HELP! :dnkn:

Many thanks for fixing it out - I'd looked at the properties for that so many times and never noticed.

A step by step guide would be very handy and could save us all alot of fiddly little probs.

I've registered a .co.uk address through VH a week ago. I can see that it is DETAGGED which, I think, means that it's on hold because some of my details are incorrect. The problem is that I don't know which ones!

Frazer helped my by phone today and corrected some details. I'll see what happens.
