Hi all,

I have tried to install different CGI script with out succes. I have read perl problems posted in this forum, but i stil couldn't get scripts to work.

I have used web based ftp to uploads script files to my cgi directory and changed chmod to 755. When i try to run i get
500 intrenal server Error :The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

There is now a test.cgi file in the bin-cgi diroctery which I downloaded from this forum.

Could any one help me for this problem.
My site is: www.somalitribune.com

Have you set the correct paths in the CGI ?

Does VH configure the virtual servers to have their own error logs? That way you can see whats going on.

Alternatively do you have permission to read the main error logs and grep for your script?

Thanks Decker for your reply,
the path is correct, I have uploaded new script, but still not working. I needed a script that makes posibble to add News items through your own browser with out uploading files. I
have downloaded the script from http://www.perlboy.org

I've changed the directoty and all files to 777.
I've used WS_FTP Pro to upload files.

And still not working. I'm realy confused. I have traid to read different articles on the web, but still couldn't find a solution.
