However, if you posted subject: cc & message: nhn ... it's there !

Nice site - clean, fast enough (at the mo with all things considered), good wide range of content (and multi platform - my god MAC was in there) & once the forums unlocked I'll be registering and paying a regular visit.

Also a good point on the downloads - you don't have to register, when you get a bit busier - suggestion - make the 'direct downloads' if you want to have any registered only (no more reason than customer loyalty angle - you provide, and save the form filling, SPAM lists and stuff and use a 'dump' email [hotmail is great for this as it just bounces after it's full] as a lot of good free downloads are provided by sites that require a valid email, and then sell it to the world - just a hint for all :D )

One other about external links - get them to open a new page as when you expand it a bit with more articles it can be a real pain to press the back button - doesn't sound like much - but if you get busy with a few browser windows open it's easy to close one accidentally and your back to square one.

All meant as constructive mate - good job - rating 8/10 (waiting for the forum :D ) :super:

minimal design,but very informative,very helpful offering needed downloads,and a nice logo :)
I know phpBB purists would moan, "OH NO,IT'S ANOTHER SUB SILVER" but if you're boards are going to have more categories then i don't see why not :)
overall,i think it's a good, solid website and deserves to be liked!

have you entered into the lycos search engine yet?
it's easy :D and free, and you don't have to wait 6months despite them saying you do.

Thank you both for your comments, :) It's appreciated.

About the direct downloads, I think that's a pretty good idea, so once Iv'e got everything running OK, I'll start to get that sorted out. Also, I shall sort out the external links annoyance :)

Look forward to seeing you in the forums Decker :)

About the forum template; I hate it! I don't know if you've heard about it, but the theme i will be using is called fisubsilver; it looks really good.

I have registered my site in search engines, I used a free submission tool recently which added my site to most of the top search engines; don't know when they will show though.

I also noticed that SP computing.co.uk is registered in a lot of search engines, however, apon visiting the site, i didn't make it past the loading screen!

... and a nice logo

Now, I never thought I'd hear that :D Thanks a lot :)

Nice - I like the minimalist approach, a little goes a long way I think.

I think so too, unfortunately not everyone sees it that way :(

Just to let everyone know, the SP Computing Support Forums are now open & working (despite the VH SQL problem!)

I think it's a good idea to have a minimalistic page design for a site like yours, I mean, if you're having trouble with Windows you don't want a support site that makes your computer crash ^^;

My only criticism, and it's a small one, would be that my default page background isn't white, so it might be a good idea to add #FFFFFF as your bg colour, but overall the site's really great and I wish you all the best with it in the future :)

I will fix that glitch regarding the BG color asap.

Thanks alot for your comments :)

I like the simple approach too. While there is obviously a place for 'state-of-the-art-design' (lots of places actually) I personally dont like to see it used for the sake of it so love sites like yours that are well laid out, easy to navigate etc.

And I dont usually pass comment son other peioples sites since I am paranoid they may pass comment on mine one day (and I am paranoid :D ) so I must have really liked it to be driven to add my tuppence of praise here!

Thank god for DW find & replace :)

This has now been done on all pages, thanks for the comments :)

Anyone have any further suggestions ?
